The largest and most densely populated "hyper-metropolis" on the entire Network, Excelsior is the also the most human-friendly location within it, as the city's administrative offices maintain a diplomatic relationship with Vigrid Tamer Academy to ensure that humanity contributes the best it has to offer to the Digimon populations.
Sitting on Exclesior's horizon is an artificial island crowned by its shining centerpiece in the form of a grand contest hall where those who want to compete for money and eternal glory may pit their skills against one another. The Tournament of Three Fates is held here once every thirty digital years.
A monastery protected by advanced security protocols, it is here that all Digimon are born into the Midgard Server, and where their data inevitably returns at the end of their previous life cycles. New students at Vigrid are sent here to discover and care for their own Digi-Eggs from which their chosen partners hatch.
A place of reverence to those who still practice the old faith, this skyscraper and the buildings that surround it have been totally reclaimed by nature, therefore connecting it deeply with the rest of the Network. At the tower's apex rests a shrine with clear dedications to some entity or another, even though its true purpose remains a mystery.
The largest full-scale industrial complex that can be found in Skuld, nearly every aspect of its daily operations is automated in some capacity or another. It is maintained by legions of synthetic and artificial Digimon, many of which functioned through a shared network that grants them cohesive synergy with other units.
A gigantic landfill that was miraculously transformed into a thriving walled city that has its own economy and plays by its own rules. Data that is unwanted or difficult to delete finds new purpose here, and its propensity for attracting the Network's pariahs and exiles make it a hot spot for illegal activities.
Data that is either too old or damaged to be reconfigured finds its way to these somber grounds, unfulfilled and unable to find new purpose. Digimon who are deleted carrying an exceedingly strong grudge may risk coming back as one of the Undead, determined to exact revenge against the living out of spite and envy.
Overlooking the rest of Skuld from beneath the cloak of darkness, no living soul has ever dared to explore this forbidding fortress; they say that anyone foolish enough to ignore the warnings are sent to the Dark Area from which there is no return. It is also claimed that a terrible creature of evil lurks its halls, lying in wait of unsuspecting prey.
